One executable idea: the Block.

Explore what follows from that decision, one runnable example at a time.

Start here

Download STreuthBrowser

Version 0.1.1

macOS Apple silicon

Run bin/STreuthBrowser from Terminal after expanding the archive.

Download for macOS

Requirement: a Java 21 JRE or newer matching the archive's architecture. JavaFX is included. A JDK is needed only when building the STreuth runtime or IDE from source.

The downloads have been manually verified on macOS Apple silicon, Ubuntu 24.04 x64, and Windows ARM64 through x64 emulation. Checksums · Release notes

First run

Open the guided tour workset

  1. In the file browser on the left, expand Tutorial.
  2. Right-click the 16_guided_ide_tour folder itself and choose Open Workset.
  3. Choose Run > Run Current File. Do not open and run Main.st by itself.

A workset tells the IDE which source files belong together. Opening it loads the tutorial's library and application sources and selects its runnable file.

# Hello, PolyGlot!

The workset loaded a library, an application object, and this live preview.
